What it is
Photism is the program this site exists for, so read this entry knowing who wrote it. It is a single Max for Live device: drop it on a track, a window opens, and the track is now driving generative visuals rendered on your GPU. Ten scenes, a five-color palette system that can pull palettes from album art, and nineteen parameters that automate like any synth control, so scene changes and intensity rides live in the arrangement.
The design bet is the top-left corner of the map: visuals with a real ceiling, at screensaver-grade effort. Kicks cause structural change in the scene rather than flashes, palettes stay coherent instead of cycling a rainbow, and there is nothing to patch, route, or configure.

Best for
Producers and performers on Ableton who want serious motion behind their music without taking up VJing as a second hobby. Streaming, clips for socials (it records with sound), venue projection from the laptop that is already running the set.
